Moreland Woods Work Day

Moreland Woods Work Day

Students, families and community members, we need your help to clean-up the Moreland Woods/Outdoor Classroom and set-up for the Renaissance Faire. Jobs include: prune shrubs, spread mulch, pull weeds, set-up Maypoles and more. No experience needed. We'll show you what needs to be done and will work rain or shine! Sign-up here.

Families are welcome and encouraged to volunteer together! All middle school students must be accompanied by an adult. One adult can bring a group of middle school students (max 4 students per adult). Jobs will be available for all elementary school students (no separate sign-ups). Please leave preschool aged and younger children at home.

Middle and high school students can sign up separately and earn community service hours during their shift, as long as they are participating :). Bring school forms to be signed, if needed.

Measure M Bond Projects

The Moreland School District invites staff, families and community members to weigh in about upcoming Measure M bond projects at EDS!  Join us in the EDS Library. We are looking for your input on the next set of bond projects which includes refurbishing tracks and fields, ensuring walkways and playgrounds meet standards, and ensuring spaces support extracurricular and enrichment activities. Each meeting is specific to the school site and designated as such. We look forward to hearing from you!

EDS Family Movie Night - Wonka

Join EDS Families for a free movie night in the EDS MU room. Admission is free, but we will be selling snacks, pizza and drinks at the Husky Cafe! Bring a blanket or folding chair to sit on. 1 adult must be present to supervise up to 5 kids!

Husky Marketplace to Benefit Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

We will be holding a Husky Marketplace to support LLS this year. This will give any student who would like to sell something a place to do that here at school, and hopefully a big crowd to sell to! The Marketplace is scheduled for Feb. 14th right after school. If your student would like to sell at this event, please fill out the form in Sherri’s newsletter. Open to EDS students only.

Extended Care Open Enrollment

Extended Care Open Enrollment

Enrollment for Baker, Country Lane, EDS, Latimer, and Payne sites will begin on February 26 at 9:00 a.m. and end on March 22 at 4:00 p.m. TK-5th grade care is offered at these sites. In addition, 6th grade care is provided at EDS and Latimer (serving both Latimer & MMS students.) Spaces are limited and a lottery system will be used to place students in the Extended Day program. Families will be notified about their child’s enrollment status between April 1-5. Students who are not placed in a program will be placed on a waitlist. Look for details coming soon on the district website.

MU Courtyard Work Day

MU Courtyard Work Day

We need your help sprucing up the new MU courtyard garden. This is a great opportunity for middle and high schoolers to earn community service hours. No experience needed. Wear clothes that can get dirty, bring a hat, sunscreen, water bottle and gardening or work gloves if you have them.

Families are welcome to volunteer together, aged TK and up! Middle and high school students please sign up separately from parents. Middle schoolers must be accompanied by an adult. One adult can bring up to 4 middle schoolers. Bring school forms to be signed, if needed. Community service hours available. Sign up to volunteer and bring tools here!

District English Language Advisory Committee (DELAC) Meeting

District English Language Advisory Committee (DELAC) Meeting

Parents and community members are invited to attend the second DELAC meeting of the 2023-24 school year. Spanish and Russian translation will be provided, along with free child care. The committee members advise district decisions regarding English learners’ programs and services in the district. Agenda items for this meeting include:

  1. Summative ELPAC testing

  2. Reclassification

  3. ELD programs

  4. MORE programs
